After operating since 2008, the MakeMeTheKing anonymous e-mail service was permanently shut down.

Thanks for those that allowed me to support the site via advertisements, and the few that donated directly. Hopefully more fun projects to come!

  1. Hey, thanks for all the effort you put into makemetheking — I used it frequently and was sad to see it go. Just out of curiosity, did you stop it because of personal reasons or outside influences?

  2. Awesome sight. I didn’t use it all the time but I did use it a lot. It was the best.
    Blessings on new adventures.

  3. Ohhh, I was wondering what happened to that! Just today, I was going to reset my password for a game that I haven’t played in a couple years, and then I got redirected to your main site. It really is a shame; thanks for keeping the service up for so long though.

  4. I have used it for many times to avoid spam, thank you for supporting it for so long.

  5. Sorry to see MMTK go! Thank you for running the service! All the Best.

    PS: I hope you re-consider!!!

    • Thanks a lot! I’d love to reconsider. Come back often, I hope to be launching some new web projects in the coming days. (we’ll see… easier said than done, right?:)

  6. To quote Max, “Would you BE-LIEVE it? Missed it by THAT much.”

Like many, I will say, so sad to see you go, but extremely thankful for the service you provided. I hope you go on to something fantastical and gratifying.

As far as I’m concerned, you ARE the king!

And, for anybody else looking for free disposable email, I will recommend a couple that I have used (and still use):
Mailinator, and Guerrillamail — which has a cool “domain”, SharkLasers — you can com them up.

I use them both, but MMTK was my favorite.

For more, there are several easy to find articles from site like Life Hacker, etc. They cover several anon email sites, and rate them for usability.

Google, while not really being our “friend”, is exhaustive in its coverage… there are too many anon email sites out there to make a list on.

    • lol Thanks for your comment. Especially that part about being King, because that’s what I originally bought the domain for (long story). :)

  7. Dang; really disappointed that you’re closing it down. It was a fantastic service. Thanks a ton for supporting it for four years!

  8. Oh, so sad. Seems like I’m going to find out just how much I used it very very soon…

  9. http://www.tempinbox.com/ Looks like a good one – assuming it’s not already blocked by every e-mail form input filter out there.

  10. http://www.tempinbox.com/ Looks like a good alternative – assuming it’s not already blocked by every registration filter out there.

  11. Thank you – this really has been a wonderful service and I’ve had so many (legal and legitimate ;) uses for it. I’m very sorry to see it go!

  12. Oh no! It was a wonderful thing while it lasted – thank you! Any chance you could post the list of alternate anon e-mail sites? I seem to recall you having a good list put together at MakeMeTheKing – but it’s gone now.

    • I actually never did compile a list, because I liked mine!

However, I won’t be opposed to anyone commenting a list here, and if it’s comprehensive and appropriate, I’ll append it to this post.

Thanks again for your support, it was great to see someone comment so quickly.
